I am a native of Dayton, Ohio and a first-generation college student. I received my BA and MA in history from Miami University and my PhD from Columbia University. I am now an associate professor at the University of Wyoming, where I teach classes on the Colonial Americas, Environmental History, and the History of Science. I am also the Director of the Wyoming Institute for Humanities Research.
